And should we ditch the ISP provided router and bring our own, or stick with the stock router? ————— My neighbors (multiple) have AT&T fiber and it went out in the middle of the Superbowl. They weren't happy but the problems continued for months. The AT&T tech practically lived on our street for a while. They told my neighbors that there was a problem at the local hub and our whole zone was affected. Xfinity will give you 1.2Gbps down for a similar price (including introductory discounts) but 30Mbps up with no option of buying faster upload. Xfinity may offer 1000 down but only 200 up whereas fibers for the same offers 1000 up and down. The closer the upload and download speeds the least amount of latency is caused on your end. Can’t speak on Comcast. Hahahahaha. But seriously, no. Few buildings in Miami are even on fiber. Oh they sell you whatever claim you’ll buy. But you’re not getting better than 100mb average unless you buy true fiber T1 or T3 or Ethernet direct ($1k+ a month)..
